Central Street, Evanston

Do you really need an excuse to go shopping on Central Street? If so, here are just a few :)

• Need to get a jump on your holiday shopping?

• Is it time for your yearly eye exam and new glasses or contacts?

• Need to get your car winterized before the snow flies?

• Does your pooch deserve a little something special?

• Would you like a new wireless computer network or stereo system?

• How about replacing those old rugs or carpeting before the holidays?

Here is your chance to take care of one or all of the above and even stop for a cup of coffee and lunch in the process. Community Day on Central Street is Saturday, November 12th. A portion of the proceeds from purchases made at participating businesses will be given to 12 participating LOCAL charities/non for profit organizations:

• Evanston Connections for the Homeless

• Evanston Public Library Friends
• Haven Middle School PRA
• Kingsley Elementary School PT
• Mitchell Museum of the American Indian

How does it work? It is as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Print out the flier below (also available from participating businesses and charities)

2. Bring the flyer with you when you shop on Central Street on November 12^th at participating business.

3. Hand it to the cashier when you make your purchase, making sure to select which charity you want to benefit. A percentage of your purchase will be donated to that organization by that Central Street business.

Tell your family and friends! It's a win-win proposition all the way around! There is a wide variety of stores and business to choose from, and a great list of beneficiary organizations. Each flyer has "room" for purchases at 3 different businesses. If you need extras, just print more at home and/or ask the cashier for another flyer. Shopping has never been so charitable!
